Scraping

Gua-Sha / Scraping

Gua-sha (also called scraping or instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization) is a traditional technique where a smooth-edged tool is used to apply firm, unidirectional strokes across the skin. The pressure and friction help break up fascial adhesions and scar tissue, improve local blood and lymphatic circulation, and reduce muscle tension and soreness. The mild controlled microtrauma it creates stimulates the body’s natural healing response, promoting the release of anti-inflammatory compounds and encouraging tissue repair. Many people find it effective for chronic muscle tightness, restricted range of motion, and conditions like neck or back pain. It can also support the drainage of metabolic waste from overworked muscles, leaving the tissue feeling looser and more pliable after treatment.
